Experience
Since graduating from the UBC Real Estate Licensing Program in 1993, I have been a full-time professional realtor. My first 10 years was spent selling residential properties on Vancouver’s West side. In that time I served a two-year term as a director of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver. In 2002, I moved with my husband, a Vernon native, to the Okanagan Valley and joined Royal LePage Downtown Realty in Vernon. Since moving here, I have received many referrals and accolades from both new and past clients.
"Thank you very much for your excellent handling of our real estate transaction in Vernon."
"I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful work you did in the sale of Mum's house. A speedy sale enabled her to move on and make the transition into the next phase of her life. Thanks so much.”
"Thank you for going beyond the call of duty in so many ways.”
Communications and Customer Service
I love what I do and I’m committed to providing first-class customer service. As I'm not part of a multi-person team, my clients always have direct access to me and receive the highest level of personal attention.
I deliver honest and direct communications throughout each real estate transaction. I listen to my clients’ needs and provide accurate market information and professional advice on what to look for and what to avoid. I understand that buying or selling a home is one of the biggest investments most people ever make.
I treat each purchase or sale as if it were my own. My reputation for consistently providing caring and professional service is the key reason the majority of my business is by referral.
"We would recommend you to anyone who is looking for a caring, committed, competent realtor in the Vernon area.”
"Thanks for your efforts…We will highly recommend you to anyone wishing a realtor in Vernon.”
Sales and Negotiating Skills
Effective negotiating skills are the key to any successful sales transaction. I excel at negotiating. Seventeen years of professional real estate sales experience, coupled with ten years previous sales experience in the computer and telecommunications industries, have honed my negotiating skills. I have developed the ability to negotiate the best possible price and the most favourable terms and conditions for my clients. My referrals speak clearly to this. I am the very best at what I do. And I'm the recipient of Royal LePage Canada's Master Sales Award.
"Cheryl, we love you! Only you could find our dream home and sell ours - all in the space of 24 hours"!
"Your sales plan was excellent, and your ability to sell was obvious”.
"Thank you for giving our property so much attention and for getting so many realtors through in a short time”.
Community Service
It’s not all about the real estate business. I believe in making a contribution and giving back to the community I work and live in. In 1997, I co-founded the Chicks with Sticks Golf Tournament at University Golf Club in Vancouver. In four years, this tremendously successful women’s golf tourney raised over $150,000 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, BC/Yukon Chapter.
On moving to Vernon in 2002, I founded the Wine Women and Woods Tee-Off for the Cure Golf Tournament. http://www.winewomenandwoods.com/ In the past six years we have contributed over $280,000 to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, BC/Yukon Chapter. I continue to contribute a portion of each of my sales commissions to the Foundation.
In 2008 I was chosen by my colleagues to be the recipient of the Realtors Care Award. The award highlights the contributions of a Realtor as "...a community ambassador in the real estate sector, someone who has chosen to make a difference in their community by raising awareness and fostering a sense of caring...". I was honoured to be the first recipient in the North Okanagan to receive this prestigious award in recognition of my fundraising efforts with the Wine Women and Woods Golf Tournament and "Bras for a Cause".
